I've updated motherboard sound drivers as a just incase. So far, I've updated my bios, 1 windows reset where it just resets settings to default and also done 1 complete fresh install, switched the firmware to 5.3c on the dac. Going into the sound settings - whether drivers are installed or not through the control panel fully locks up the computer after a few seconds. Without the drivers installed windows device manager tells me the device descriptor request failed, further clicking into details for that it gives me there's an error code 43. I've double checked the drivers I'm installing list the Zen dac and downloaded through IFI's own website. With drivers installed - in device manager I have 2 instances of the dac - one under "other devices" - which tells me there's no drivers installed and another instance under sound controllers which has drivers installed. It finally got on my last nerve today and I did some investigation. When the pc would boot I'd have to unplug and plug back in the dac to get it to work. Recently I started having an issue - as far as I can remember it started randomly - don't remember doing any audio setting or driver changes. Previously had this dac on my windows 10 pc since June 2020 and it's never faulted me. Have been using my Zen Dac v1 on my new windows 11 pc (asus tuf gaming z690, 12600k, 3070ti and 16gb corsair dominator DDR4) without fault for about 2/3 months.
